foals-daffodils-mark-ronson-cover-version

Foals have covered Mark Ronson's "Daffodils" ft Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, and the fact they've upped the tempo, funk, and spacey synths is quite remarkable.

One For The People favourites Foals and their tour mates Freelance Whales are putting together a split 7" for Record Store Day.

Foals are back again with a new video for, 'Blue Blood', the lead track off Total Life Forever. Total Life Forever is starting to look like possibly the only real challenger alongside Arcade Fire - The Suburbs, for best album of 2010. I don't think there are many other contenders out there and some would say it deserved The Mercury Music Prize, above The xx.

Either way, Foals aren't really in need of that kind of recognition as they will continue to keep churning out music, from the catchiest feel good tracks to the most undeniably moving, atmospheric tracks. Foals have variety, they proved that with what they brought to the table with Total Life Forever and it should be commended. Hopefully the next LP will be another pleasant surprise, just like the one it will precede. Here's the video for 'Blue Blood'.

Last week we brought you the epic list of newcomers from this year, missing a few I'm sure but you can't please everyone. You also don't want to be doing ridiculous lists such as, 'The Top 100' sending everyone to sleep by the time they get to 50.

This week is the turn of 'Best Tracks'... no set figure... no ranking... just literally the best of the best this year.

Heres another video from Foals' epicly good 'Total Life Forever' album. Be sure to check out the previous videos for "Spanish Sahara" & "Miami" if you missed them.

hot dreams plungepool new music

Hot Dreams
emerge with "Plungepool", sounding like something you'd expect from a Foals and White Lies lovechild.

Foals' Holy Fire is almost upon us (February 11 in fact), maybe you got that from all the unlocking you've been doing over at foals.co.uk? Maybe not, but there is a new video for most recent track "My Number" though to tide you over until then.

It's that time again, we're on the stroke of summer and there's a whole new batch of brilliant anticipated albums on the verge of release. We spend a lot of time rattling on about the quality of specific track releases and a lot of those bands and musicians don't even make it to the point of releasing an album. So in honour of all those with the ability, luck and determination to get there - these anticipated posts are for you. Yes, some of the releases are through major labels, offshoots, subsidiaries, blah blah blah lets be clear - these albums are here on our merit, nothing else.

Foals have a new video for 'Miami', track 2 off the outrageously good new album 'Total Life Forever' which oneforthepeople have been pushing along ever since the promo for spanish sahara. The video in one word is 'Transgender' it was directed by Dave Ma and the track will be released on July 4th. Sadly NME have got their grubby hands on an exclusive so you we can't embed the video. To see he video click here

Tonight on the "world famous BBC Radio 1" we heard a worldwide exclusive and the return of Foals. Zane Lowe played the track named Spanish Sahara.

What's been in the pipeline for sometime finally produces some new material. NEW FOALS, that's right, "Inhaler" is the first thing to come from the bands forthcoming third album Holy Fire.

Foals new album Total Life Forever is due for release Monday, May 10th, but you can listen to the full streaming album here - this is going to be possibly one of the albums of 2010, be warned...

Oxford trio 'Trophy Wife' are somewhat of a favourite amongst team 1FTP. If you've been following us for a while then you'll know how much we rate these guys. They're overall musical vibe is an infectious blend of melodic, prog indie disco which has got us all hooked and we've only heard three tracks. And, as if our word isn't enough, they're also Yannis Philipakkis' (Foals) current listening choice.

Foals and The Maccabees; a pair of modern day, headline grabbing, guitar bands. Let us now introduce you to Blaenavon, who sound like said bands after shuffling together both decks.

Recently we brought you the official video for their track 'Follow', now we are bringing you the video for their track 'Swallow'. Both off their latest LP 'Star Of Love' which you can stream in it's entirety here.

Trophy Wife are a three piece from Oxford and are coming hotly tipped by Foals. When you listen to their music there is no suprise why, Foals fans you will not be disappointed.

After "Inhaler", you may have caught this one on Jools' 'Later' show a few weks back. But anyway, Zane Lowe has made it his 'Hottest Record', as he does, and you can hear its studio recorded version.

Some fresh meat for you. Here's Second track from new Foals album, Total Life Forever, the first being the absolutely immense 'Spanish Sahara'. 'This Orient' is due out may 3rd, check it out....

We've been waiting on this one for a while now. 1FTP fav's Trophy Wife have some new material for us in the form of 'Spinalonga', which follows the same effective, melodic, restrained disco approach as the ever popular 'Microlite' & 'Take This Night'.

We're now one third of the way into 2014 and its new music is proving to be head and shoulders stronger than 2013.

one-for-the-people-month-in-review-april-2014

April has probably been the patchiest month of the year so far. We've had strong contenders for single of the month and all from relative newcomers, not so much competition for album of the month and newcomers were fairly thin on the ground too. That aside, we've developed a renewed vigour for the site and found time for some interviews and features. But enough of that, let's get to it..
