The Swedish jangle-pop maestros have another gem on their hands with latest track "Head Over Here" and we fully expect more to follow from this one.

Swedish dream-pop four-piece School rename themselves School '94, sign to Cascine for debut EP.

Having said that, latest track and debut EP title track, "Like You", isn't as much dream-pop, as it is shimmering indie-pop with some 80's new wave influences floating to the surface. Alice Botéus is on point as always with crisp melancholic vocals that really draw your attention.

Göteborg guitar-pop four-piece School unveil latest single, "Easier".

Again, just like Sheffield's Blessa, Göteborg's School are taking their modernist guitar-pop to the next level on new single, "Easier".

Neon Indian unveils "Slumlord" the second track we're to hear from his upcoming VEGA INTL. Night School album and it sound rather like he's a step back in time, took a dive through "Deadbeat Summer", and come out on the other side with "Slumlord".

Theres nothing like a new dose of self proclaimed 'Gutter Pop' to kick start your day, kindly provided by London trio Not Cool.

Out on a new compilation from Leeds DIY label Beech Coma, "She'll Move On" is the new one from Brighton's Home School, which follows on from the very impressive "Be Cool" last year.

Ski Lodge are back with "Just To Be Like You" and as the cliche goes, contrary to the view from the artwork's window, all we see though ours is rain and we're yet again yearning for summer through the medium of music.

Swedish four-piece School stroll into the class of 2014 with "SoLong", a guitar-pop debut worth remembering....

I'll admit, this isn't what I expected. Initial thoughts were: Scandinavian + female soloist and voila, you get another ubiquitous export for some 'tastemakers' to hype up. Happily, that turns out to be wrong, quite wrong in fact, as School's debut single "So Long" is a much more interesting prospect altogether.

Notably friends with other South coast natives such as YRRS & 1FTP favs BAYY, Home School - by the looks of things anyway - is a relatively new project from Jack Kaye and co, who seem to have captured our attention with their terrifically catchy pop-hit "Be Cool".

The artist is Bazooka. The track is "I Want To Fuck All The Girls In My School", which is totally outrageous, right? Keep reading though...

Watch School's debut video for their charming single "SoLong"

School's "SoLong" has been around for over seven months now, so a 'UK' release seemed a bit odd, especially when you could buy it previously (I know, the Internet right?). But we know what it actually means, and that is a new press release and a refreshed image (and more people are seemingly 'into it', so good job team), but, more importantly, things such as a video, which is always nice to see.

We're exactly halfway through the year. Here's our selection of the best tracks... So far

July 1st marks the exact halfway mark of 2014. We know, how time flies, etc etc. Given the pace that new music hits the pages nowadays, it's more than likely that there's a few things you may have missed. And so, in no particular order, here's our pick of the 12 best tracks of the year so far. Feel free to disagree with us on in the comments below, or over on Twitter, here.

We get lots of emails consisting of demos, amateur videos and so on, as every other site does. However, it's very hard to come across someone worthy of exposure and praise. Not in Theme Park's case though, they rolled into our inbox from one of our more trusted industry friends and immediately blew us away.

The bands debut double A side, "Wax/A Mountain We Love" will be out via ParadYse (an imprint on Transgressive Records) on August 29. They will also play their first show, two days later at The Lexington, London.

Theme Park have the potential to go far if they can keep up their infectious melodies and captivating vocals. We need to know more though. So far all we know is they're a four piece from London, twins Miles & Marcus Haughton, Louis Bhose and Oscar Manthorpe and they formed in early 2011. Because of this we took matters into our own hands, here's what they told us last week.

Not typically a styling we over-do it with on here but when somethings as good as this debut track from Melbourne's WILSN, you just have to share it.

Little Girls came to our attention last month with their awesome take on Joy Division's "She's Lost Control" ("White Night") and now they've dropped some more tracks from their Cults EP.

We aren't going to lie; it's been probably the most infuriating, frustrating and damn right drawn-out summer in recent years and we've struggled to keep the site afloat. Luckily, we're alive and kicking and rather than publish June, July and August Certified New Mixtapes; we decided to minimise our workload and compile the summer's best tracks into one, easy to stream, easy to download mixtape.

More brilliant new school "indie" from Surf Club and their new track "Swoon", refer back to a previous track from Ski Lodge to hear a rant about the state of old school "indie", and what the future holds for indie lovers who aren't in it for the leather jacket.

Swedish rock & roll four-piece Moon City Boys make some seriously great, old school nostalgic timelessness and latest single "Rockets"/"Stranger" is the perfect example.
