best-songs-2015-so-far-one-for-the-people

It is that time of the year again or maybe a little past that time of year if we're being totally honest but never-the-less, we have a list compiled of some of the best tracks to slap us in the chops and make us take note this year - even adding them to our Certified Tracks section. Just to be a bit different, we will be throwing some album tracks in the mix to highlight how important it is not to solely rely on blogs posting song after song, and what a front-to-back album can offer.

First off, we've so far had 12 brilliant tracks and they're all featured in our CT15 section of the website, but keep reading to find out why we think they're so good. On top of that, like we've just said, we'll shuffle the pack and highlight some songs that haven't featured on the site because they're album tracks. So here goes.

It feels like this song has been about for absolute years and yes its had a rework, but Wolf Alice's "Bros" benefits from the rework and another thing it benefits from is this new video.

Wolf Alice have unveiled a new re-worked version of one of their first ever tracks and personal favourite, "Bros".

Rushing an LP isn't exactly the wisest thing, whether you're a new band or not and to say it's been about two years since Wolf Alice's, "Fluffy", I don't think it would be clever to class debut LP My Love Is Cool as long awaited. One thing certain is they've earned their touring stripes over that time, playing a shit load of dates and they continue to do so now, shaping their sound and getting their name out there in the process, you know - the band thing?

We're exactly halfway through the year. Here's our selection of the best tracks... So far

July 1st marks the exact halfway mark of 2014. We know, how time flies, etc etc. Given the pace that new music hits the pages nowadays, it's more than likely that there's a few things you may have missed. And so, in no particular order, here's our pick of the 12 best tracks of the year so far. Feel free to disagree with us on in the comments below, or over on Twitter, here.

Wolf Alice unveil the video for Certified Track "Moaning Lisa Smile" from their just released Creature Songs EP.

Here's what we had to say on Wolf Alice's "Moaning Lisa Smile", which we named as one of this years 'Certified Tracks':

Wolf Alice stream their upcoming Creature Songs EP ahead of it's May 26th release on Dirty Hit.

The band's four track EP follows last years Blush EP and shows distinct progression and maturity. It's more direct, it's more energetic and it's better. If progression is how you judge a band from one release to another then Wolf Alice have come up trumps.

Wolf Alice unveil "Storms" the second track from their upcoming Creature Songs EP.

Not long off the back of Certified Track "Moaning Lisa Smile", comes the bands next effort in a similar rip-roaring fashion, "Storms".

London four-piece Wolf Alice return with "Moaning Lisa Smile", from their upcoming EP, Creature Songs

This whole boring "lack of" "guitar music" debate, that seems to stretch the full length of time will probably never go away but we, and you, know it's all about where you look. In the case of Wolf Alice and going by their new track "Moaning Lisa Smile" - you won't have to look very far soon.
