"Downhearted" signals the signing of yet another outrageous talent to One For The People stalwart, Captured Tracks.

In what I would so far call, the most productive and musically varied month for new releases, emerged a band from Blacksburg, Virginia. After one solitary listen, Hoop Dreams immediately landed a spot in our CN Mixtape for April and ever since then we've been aching for more than 2 Minutes of the larger than life, nostalgic lo-fi fuzz that's so clearly on display when listening to "XCPR". We spoke with the guys earlier this month, read below to see what they revealed.

Captured Tracks' Donovan Blanc have unveiled the full album stream of their debut self-titled LP.

We've just recently announced a list of our most anticipated full length releases this summer, and Donovan Blanc's debut was most certainly in there - click the link to read the feature.

Summer isn't exactly the ripest season when it comes to new releases, but this year may have a few surprises up it's sleeve. Once again, for anyone new to this, these aren't necessarily releases we think or know are going to be top-drawer albums, they just have a strong possibility of ticking your boxes, especially if you're familiar with the kind of music we feature on the site. If you aren't then don't worry as we're not going to presume any of you are 100% familiar with these acts and we'll write the rundown to reflect that. In no particular order, here goes:

The messiah is back - Mac Demarco returns with "The Way You'd Love Her", the first glimpse of music from his upcoming EP, Another One.

Firstly an apology. It feels like all we do lately is post about Captured Tracks artists. But, in saying that, I'm fairly confident you'll forgive us upon hearing "Geist" - the new track from Beach Fossils spin off Dive.

Syracuse noise-punks Perfect Pussy have made their Captured Tracks debut Say Yes To Love available to stream online.

Following the unveiling of previous tracks, "Driver" and "Interference Fits" the band have now made their first Captured Tracks full length, Say Yes To Love, available to stream.

Earlier this year the incredibly marmite Medicine decided to reform after an 18 year split and following first track "Long As The Sun", the band and label, Captured Tracks, have unveiled "It's Not Enough", the next track to come from their long awaited LP, To The Happy Few.

Captured Tracks' Perfect Pussy unveil "Interference Fits" the second track to come from their upcoming Say Yes To Love LP.

Montreal and Captured Tracks' Mac DeMarco unveils the full album stream of new LP, Salad Days.

It's been another pretty interesting, to say the least, promo campaign from Maccy and we for one are delighted to be able to stream his latest LP, Salad Days, in full.

Funny isn't it, when looking back on last years 'Ones To Watch' list and seeing what became of our picks. To be fair, we never said that they were going to take over the world and sell a million records, far from it in fact. What we are saying, though, is that an EP or album are expected from this talented lot in the forthcoming year.

Captured Tracks are on fire of late and "Complete", the new track from former Beach Fossils bassist John Peña aka Heavenly Beat, is only stoking the fire more.

As a fan of Captured Tracks and inevitably Blouse, we we're immensely excited for the emergence of their new music; so when "No Shelter" came around in June, it came as a shock to the system that they'd dropped their murky and Gothic romanticism for a more apparent romantic edge and new track, "A Feeling Like This", only serves to solidify our thoughts that the slight change up has paid off.

We're now one third of the way into 2014 and its new music is proving to be head and shoulders stronger than 2013.

April has probably been the patchiest month of the year so far. We've had strong contenders for single of the month and all from relative newcomers, not so much competition for album of the month and newcomers were fairly thin on the ground too. That aside, we've developed a renewed vigour for the site and found time for some interviews and features. But enough of that, let's get to it..

It's that time again, we're on the stroke of summer and there's a whole new batch of brilliant anticipated albums on the verge of release. We spend a lot of time rattling on about the quality of specific track releases and a lot of those bands and musicians don't even make it to the point of releasing an album. So in honour of all those with the ability, luck and determination to get there - these anticipated posts are for you. Yes, some of the releases are through major labels, offshoots, subsidiaries, blah blah blah lets be clear - these albums are here on our merit, nothing else.

Montréal newcomer (well kind of, but we'll explain later) Mac DeMarco has just dropped some solid gold nuggets from his upcoming EP, Rock and Roll Nightclub and we're just the kind of people who'd want to tell you about it.

Hear "Brother" the third cut to be heard from Montreal's gap-toothed wonder Mac Demarco and his upcoming Salad Days LP.

Maccy's Salad Days isn't far off now and he's unveiled "Brother" the latest track to be heard from the follow-up to 2.

We take a look at some of our most highly-anticipated LP releases this spring.

Everyone's always banging on about how disposable music is these days and how little emphasis is placed on full-length releases. Well we're about to place some emphasis on some of the upcoming LPs set for release this spring - give or take. So how about everyone gives it a rest and rather than going searching for new music, we'll bring a large chunk to you instead.
