It is that time of the year again or maybe a little past that time of year if we're being totally honest but never-the-less, we have a list compiled of some of the best tracks to slap us in the chops and make us take note this year - even adding them to our Certified Tracks section. Just to be a bit different, we will be throwing some album tracks in the mix to highlight how important it is not to solely rely on blogs posting song after song, and what a front-to-back album can offer.

First off, we've so far had 12 brilliant tracks and they're all featured in our CT15 section of the website, but keep reading to find out why we think they're so good. On top of that, like we've just said, we'll shuffle the pack and highlight some songs that haven't featured on the site because they're album tracks. So here goes.

Purity Ring have unveiled "bodyache" another track from their upcoming album, another eternity, which is now available to stream via NPR.

Having gone missing for most of November and December last year, we negelcted to inform you of the new stuff from Purity Ring, including previous track "Push Pull". Well off the back of that, the duo have unveiled details of their Shrines follow up, Another Eternity and dropped new track "Begin Again".

Irregardless of who you speak to, 2012 has been another great year (here is 2011's list, for comparisons sake). From the emergence of new favorites like DIIV, Savages & Splashh, to the returning Tame Impala, Foals & The xx to name but a few, its been scattered with diversity once again. Below, you can find our top 12 (in no particular order, six choices each and one for each month) tracks from 2012, each divergent, unique and evident of another memorable year that has passed us by. Purity Ring have finally given "Lofticries", first heard in 2011 and featured on their debut LP, Shrines, the visual treatment.

It certainly feels like Purity Ring's debut LP Shrines has took a long time coming. And in a way it has, ever since early 2011 with "Ungirthed" to be precise.

As far as new music releases go, June has been probably one of the strangest months of the year so far. Not necessarily bad just different and this months Certified New will vouch for that.

As anticipation builds for Purity Ring's debut LP Shrines next month, out comes another cut from the LP in form of the wonderfully sing-a-long "Fineshrine".

Purity Ring, straight off the back of Certified New track "Obedear", have finally dropped their debut video and it's for the rework of last year's skittish, "Belispeak".

We haven't heard much from Purity Ring since "Belispeak" in August last year, but following on from their debut album announcement last month, the band finally have some new sounds with "Obedear".

Seems like forever ago that Purity Ring made their debut with "Ungirthed" and following "Lofticries" in April we get to hear another new track today.

Yesterday, eccentric, up beat, borderline bizarre Canadian group Gobble Gobble announced they have shaken things up and changed their name to 'Born Gold'.
