The UK has found its answer to QOTSA and it comes in the form of Royal Blood.

The Brighton duo first came to our attention opening the Saturday of this year's Beacons Festival; a day where, along with Local Natives, they stole the show.

The guitar and drum duo isn't as rare as most people probably think and the likes of JEFF The Brotherhood have been showing people how to do it properly for a fair while now. Royal Blood fall somewhere between the numerics, raw power and aggression of JEFF and the sheer class and style of QOTSA.

"Out Of The Black" is an all-out guitar x drum rampage; an onslaught on the senses and in it's simplicity, they've produced something not-too-far from genius. With the mediocre nature of the nation's Arctic Monkeys wannabes; the UK has been crying out for an act with this level of intensity for a while and thank f**k we've found it.

For a b-side, "Come On Over" is nearing the strength of "Out Of The Black" and its vocal only serves as more evidence that the band are producing the kind of desert stoner-rock that you'd expect from Josh Homme.

Their debut 7" is set for release through Black Mammoth Records on November 11, grab a digital copy here.
