New Music: Blood Orange - Chamakay

One Instagram's busiest musicians, Blood Orange, eases us into the morning with "Chamakay", his much awaited return and first track to be taken from upcoming Coastal Grooves follow up Cupid Deluxe.

"Chamakay" sees Hynes step into more soft and subtle regions, especially in comparison the vast majority of tracks seen on Coastal Grooves, which were far more funky and edgy and it will surely divide a lot of his original fans. Let's not knock him for stretching his arms though, "Chamakay" obviously means a lot personally for Blood Orange and the fact Dev chose to visit his mothers birthplace in Guyana probably proves that. The piercing vocals on the track are from the ever busy Caroline Polachek of Chairlift and the video was directed by Adam - Kindness - Bainbridge.
