Baltimore's Future Islands look set to release album three, On The Water, a week today (via Thrill Jockey). But if you cant wait that long then feat not, we've got your back.

To gain a glimpse of whats on offer here simply head back to our post on track #8 "Balance", the uptempo, feel good number which helped us see out the last days of summer in some style. Unfortunately those brighter, warmer days may be just out of our reach, but still, take some consolation in the fact that you can hear the album in its entirety below via NPR.

Track list:

01. On the Water
02. Before the Bridge
03. The Great Fire
04. Open
05. Where I Found You

Future Islands will release its third album, “On the Water,” on Oct. 10 via Thrill Jockey. The synth-pop trio spent March of this year living and recording in their home state of North Carolina, in Elizabeth City. Naturally, the town is located on the banks of a river and is just a short drive from the beach, locales that the band used to make watery field recordings and record vocal takes with the ocean’s waves crashing in the background. Featured contributors include Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner, who provides vocals on “The Great Fire”, and Double Dagger’s Denny Bowen, who added live drumming and additional percussion. The 11-song tracklist, which includes the recently released “Before the Bridge,” (http://blogs.citypaper.com/noise/index.php/2011/06/future-islands-unveil-new-track-before-the-bridge/) is below.
