East Londons Weird Dreams return today with their second EP offering, Hypnagogic Lullaby.

If the bands self titled debut EP was the sister, then this is most definitely the brother.

"Theres a lot more depth in this one" explains frontman Doran Edwards. "We definitely wore our influences on our sleeves with the first EP, stuff like The Tammys, Beach Boys and Syl Johnson."

Having recorded Hypnagogic Lullaby (note: Hypnagogic: of or relating to the state just before one is fully asleep) once again with legendary London producer Rory Attwell (think artists like Male Bonding / TEETH!! and a shit-load more) they've also increased in numbers, drafting in guitarist James Wignall from neighbouring band Cheatahs to add to Craig on drums and Hugo on bass.

(DE) "The new EP is more of its own thing than trying to be a mix of others. With the guitar sound I wanted a quite shimmering, dreamy texture".

East London is certainly a thriving musical area right now, not that it never was of course. And if your going to rant endlessly about how good Oxford's Blessing Force collective are, or Wu Lyf, Christian AIDS and Meke Menete of Manchester are, then theres no reason why East LDN shouldn't be thrown in there as well. Not Cool, Colours, The Vaccines to name only a few exciting new acts.

The 's' word is something we both try and avoid during conversation, as Doran points out: "Its funny how your hesitant to call it a scene. But yeah, It's just a bunch of friends putting stuff out really".

Previous tracks like "Hurt So Bad" and "Where Did I Go Wrong" had set the bar high, with their odes to 60's girl group-style harmonies. Take our favourite "Summer Black" for example...
