Toronto's Fake Palms make gruff and rasping noise pop in the best way, sounding very similar and potentially more melodic than The Stooges or more currently Viet Cong - that may be why they're claiming a Brian Wilson influence in there too. I think latest song "YTMATLDPH" will vouch for that.

"YTMATLDPH" sounds harsh, brutalist and all kinds of dirty, but it is Fake Palms' juxtaposition between dirt and melody that make their music so infectious, and they've got somewhat of a chorus on show too.

Fake Palms will release their self-titled debut album through Buzz Records on September and "YTMATLDPH" is set to feature along with previous track "Sparkle" which you can also hear below.
