Following "Talk Talk", UK via Australia's neo-pop songstress George Maple unveils "Vacant Space".

God knows how we slept on George Maple, we've been pretty dormant the past year in fairness so we'll just put it down to that. Seriously though, in a similar vein to Jessie Ware, George Maple has rose to fame via featuring slots on a variety of acts' tracks including Kwes, Snakehips and Flume. Now she's striking the solo trail while the iron is hot.

Maple's vocals are a kind of cross between the sultry decadence of Jessie Ware and the, at times, painstaking delicacy of someone like James Blake. The vocals spatter "Vacant Space" and it's dark, electronic undertones, painting something perfectly fresh, new and daring - this is self-aware pop music for the here and now.

"Vacant Space" is the title track from Maple's December 1st EP release on Future Classic.
