It's been a long time since we've covered The Black Tambourines - three years too long, in fact. However, the band are back after the release of their previous Chica EP with "I Wanna Stay Away".

The track is the first to be released from the band's upcoming second album and is a real shift forward in their sound. While still sticking to their excitable surf/alt roots, The Black Tambourines have managed to capture their raucous live performance and channel it into a sound we can play through headphones as the track relentlessly thrashes away for just over two minutes.
