Alberta, Canada's Travis Bretzer makes that oh-so-good, sing-along slacker-pop; the kind made popular by Captured Tracks' Mac DeMarco.
Following up his "Hurts So Bad"/"Billy and I" double a-side though Brighton, UK's Cool Delta, comes "Low Volt" from Bretzer's Mexican Summer debut LP and follow up to his Making Love EP. "Low Volt" together with b-side "Debbie" is an almost perfect pairing. "Low Volt" is a light and airy dream-pop number that saunters along without a care in the world and "Debbie" starts in a similar fashion; only giving off a bit more of a restrained sensibility.
Travis Bretzer's as-yet un-named debut LP should be expected on Mexican Summer sometime early 2014.
