CERTIFIED NEW: December 2012 / January 2013

As is usual with December, it was a quiet month for new releases, so we compiled the best from December and this month (January for anyone not quite sure) into our first Certified New for 2013.

Since the start of December we've seen the return of Local Natives, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Beach Fossils, Iceage and Youth Lagoon. Along with those seriously strong comebacks, we witnessed the emergence of Mac Demarco's buddy, Alex Calder, along with Spectral Park and Au.Ra.

If the latest Certified New Mixtape is anything to go by, 2013 looks set to be a wonderfully strange but quality year for music.
