CT15 #3: Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Multi-Love

It doesn't really seem like more than a year since Portland's Unknown Mortal Orchestra dropped their second LP II to huge critical acclaim, but it has. We say this because they've just announced the release of their third effort Multi-Love through Jagjaguwar on May 26th, and we've got the title track at our disposal.

"Multi-Love" is very much intrinsic to what we've come to know and love about UMO, but consider it another step on their ladder, a ladder that seems to be missing a couple rungs. What begins some fairly sparse and random arse keys paired with vocalist Ruban Nielson's husky yet fragile tones soon flips the pace, turning into something of the psychedelic disco variety. Add to it one addictive chorus and it seems Unknown Mortal Orchestra are not only finding their niche - they're creating and owning it.

As we've already said, Multi-Love is set for release through the band's usually label, Jagjaguwar on May 26th, grab a pre-order now. Tracklist and audio stream below.
