Tracks: Joanna Gruesome - Last Year

Once again we're playing catch-up - Joanna Gruesome unveil their gloriously skittish and random new track "Last Year".

Never ones for 'doing it by the book' or being 'straight laced', don't be fooled by the tracks typically nostalgic name, because you'll be disappointed. What you will find though, is a track that's raw, urgent and seemingly inspired by last year's tour-mates Perfect Pussy. "Last Year" finds a balance between scuzzy post-punk and melodic power-pop, and to a less trained ear, may sound like a fucking racket, but to anyone else will be like a breath of fresh air.

Joanna Gruesome follow up last-year's Weird Sister LP with Peanut Butter, to be released May 11, through Fortuna Pop and Slumberland in the UK and US respectively.
