Album Stream: Best Coast - Fade Away

Best Coast's latest effort is actually alright; the band and Cosentino seem to have found the extra vigour that was lacking on the band's over-produced previous LP,  The Only Place, which in our opinion was awful.

Opening track "This Lonely Morning" sees Best Coast in fine fettle and has a renewed sense of emergency; it's vibrant, free-spirited and overall it's very catchy and even manages to present Cosentino's vomit inducing lyrics in a good light. Don't get me wrong, some efforts on Fade Away do see the band drifting back to territory seen on The Only Place, but as a whole this Fade Way EP goes a way to reassure original fans - previous to Cosentino's fashion lines and other Clueless/The Craft, teenage/hipster related bs - that they still have something to give.
