Introducing: The Death of Pop - Sun In My Eyes
It's clear that London duo The Death of Pop have been on the cusp of something for a while now. Having peppered their Soundcloud account in recent months with a plethora of gorgeously layered J. Marr like jangles, latest song "Sun In My Eyes" sees them take a sharp side turn, perhaps for the better in fact.
And so, out are the charming pop leanings and harmonious overtones, instead replaced with a murky, progressively glorious shoegaze authority. But not just any shoegaze, with their sugary sweet past making the buzzsaw guitars sound even more accessibly pleasing. To be honest, though, they do both sides of the coin pretty fucking well, which isn't a bad thing really, is it?
Catch them playing the Sebright Arms on July 6. Flick through their back catalogue on Facebook.
