New Material: Austra - Home

Putting that horrendous artwork to the side for a second, Austra have returned with "Home", their first piece of material since the release of debut LP Feel It Break in 2011.

"Home" comes across far more mature and balanced than anything previously witnessed on Feel It Break. It's hard to say whether that's general musical maturity breaking through in Katie Stelmanis, or that the band are simply functioning better as a group. One thing for sure is if I'm not treat to another grimy, pulsating bass track like "Beat and the Pulse" on their Olympia follow up, I will be very disappointed.

We'll find that out on June 18, when Olympia gets a release through Domino Records. For now though, listen to "Home" below.
