The majority of emerging Australian bands have Triple J to thank for it. The station is a fine example of how independents still have a place on the airwaves and Braves are another example of the benefits we - the music lover - are reaping from the radio stations support of homegrown talent.

The band released Sorrow their first EP - I won't sensationalize it by calling it a debut - through bandcamp on February 1. It's a 'name your price' release, just like 3 our 3rd birthday compilation and you can grab a copy here.

Braves are solid surf-pop, with some shoegaze and dream-pop tendencies. The gap between those three styles is growing increasingly thin. Listen to the Sorrow EP below, it will go a way to improving your mood of this most dour of Tuesday afternoons.
