Tracks: Toro Y Moi - Empty Nesters
Not gonna lie, haven't been into anything Bundick related since Underneath The Pine, but this reinvigorated sound heard on "Empty Nesters" comes as a pleasant and funked-up surprise.
Having recently experimented with side-project Les Sins it seems Toro Y Moi has returned back to their Underneath The Pine days, only less "insert-word-wave" and possessing a bit more of a mainstream and dare I say, commerical sound. It works well, it's kinda Tame Impala-esque (space-age synths) only a touch more joyous and that's most definitely not a bad thing.
Toro Y Moi's What For is set for release through the usual Carpark Records on April 7th, I'm sure we'll hear a few more cuts before then though.
