Following on from their debut Maritime EP, Beach Vacation have dropped new track, "I Saw You". The band are from Oak Harbour, Washington and there's no prizes for guessing who their influences are, (Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, Craft Spells) "I Saw You" sounds like a combination of all three.
The problem with this kind of heavy influence is it can be taken one of two ways. Either an unimaginative copy or an imaginative improvement. Dream-pop lends itself to new acts as the sound is, by in large, simple and open to improvements and alterations; something Beach Vacation have managed with "I Saw You" and the results are impressive. "I Saw You" invigorates a genre that's in slow decline.
