Tracks: Drop Out Venus - I Kill Foxes

Off the back of "Morning Star", Deptfoth trio Drop Out Venus have announced an upcoming 7" single release which will feature latest track, "I Kill Foxes".

I could now go on to describe "I Kill Foxes" with hundreds of terribly lazy cliche's, so I won't. What I will do, is give you Iva Moskovich's description of the song which is equally as lazy, but far more interesting:

"This is the saddest song I've ever written and I borderline hate it. It started off as a joke. King HeadSwim was for a while obsessed with Bill Callahan's I Break Horses, which is a pretty terrifying song about one man's behavior towards women. He used to play it to us a lot, and for his birthday I wanted to write him my own version of that song in which the roles of man and woman were reversed. The problem was that it stopped being a joke in the first five minutes of improvising the words and melody and it felt like the song kind of turned on me and became confrontational as opposed to in any way entertaining." - Iva Moskovich, June 2012

If it's possible to describe a song as equally aggressive as it is beautiful, then "I Kill Foxes" could be that very track. You can grab a copy via Dirty Bingo Records on September 24.
